NBA Stars Who Give Back
Along with Dwight Howard, Stephen Curry is a nominee for the 2013-14 Season-long NBA Community Assist Award for his consistent support of charity. Curry has a history of contributing to global health organizations like the United Nations Foundation, which provides HIV/AIDS support, education and relief aid to populations in need. His NBA community assist nomination was largely due to his ongoing work with the organization Nothing But Nets. With Curry’s direct help, the organization has been able to distribute 38,000 bed nets to malaria-stricken areas of Tanzania in an effort to cut rates of infection.
