Who Shouldn’t Be Screened?

If you have a health condition like heart failure or severe COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), you won’t likely benefit from lung cancer screening. Patients who have a low risk for lung cancer may also want to skip the screening because there are more risks tied to screening and follow-up tests. Again, however, it’s always best to discuss the risks and benefits of screening with your doctor.
