Friendship Lowers Stress

Friendship may help combat stress. One study discovered that having a good friend present during a negative experience significantly decreased the resulting levels of the stress hormone, cortisol. Chronic stress can increase the risk for a host of mental and physical problems, including risk of cold and flu.
