The Benefits of Breastfeeding

Behavior

According to the NRDC, breastfed babies are less likely to experience learning, psychological, and behavioral problems as they get older. Children who are breastfed also have increased cognitive development. On average, they may also be more mature, assertive and secure. According to UNICEF, breastfeeding creates a special bond between mother and baby. This interaction may have positive repercussions for adult life — in terms of behaviour, speech, sense of well being, security and relation to others.
