Pyridorin is a drug candidate and is being evaluated for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy, which is chronic kidney disease caused by diabetes.
Pyridorin focuses on certain products (pathogenic oxidative chemistries) that are seen at higher levels in patients with diabetes. Pyridorin aims at preventing these certain products from damaging the kidneys. It aims to prevent the underlying cause of kidney disease and therefore slow the progression of kidney damage.
This medication comes in capsule form and is taken by mouth.
