Tracie T. Newman, MD, MPH, FAAP

Dr. Newman obtained her medical degree from the University of North Dakota, where she was quite active, including serving as president of Physicians for Human Rights. She then attended the University of Minnesota for both graduate school and residency. Dr. Newman is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, maintains a busy clinical practice, and serves as a clinical assistant professor for medical student education.

Dr. Newman has a Masters degree in Public Health and an interest in preventative health and public policy for Children. Prevention is such an integral part of pediatrics and she feels that children need an advocating voice in the legislature. She has been active in this process at both the state and federal level. She also maintains a strong interest in child nutrition, particularly breastfeeding.
