Matthew Smith, MD, is Board certified in internal medicine and nephrology. Dr. Smith completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and earned his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1998. He completed his residency in internal medicine in 2001 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he also completed a fellowship in nephrology in 2003. In 2013, Dr. Smith graduated with a Masters of Medical Management (MMM) degree from Carnegie Mellon University and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In 2012, he was selected as the Vice President of Medical Affairs/Chief Medical Officer at Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton in Carrollton, Texas. In addition to this role, Dr. Smith maintains a busy clinical practice at North Texas Kidney Disease Associates.
