Kourosh Parsapour, MD, MBA

Dr. Parsapour is one of the founders of 5plus as well as the company's CEO. He has been involved in telehealth for nearly 10 years and has worked closely with other clinicians, administrators, technicians, and health policy makers to support its use and development. He was the co-founder and co-chair of the American Telemedicine Association’s Pediatric Telehealth Special Interest Group as well as the Pediatric Telehealth Colloquium. Dr. Parsapour’s involvement in telemedicine extends from academic research to previous start-up experience. After participating in the development and expansion of the Pediatric Telemedicine Program at UC Davis Medical Center, he founded Telepeds, a private telemedicine company providing pediatric emergency and critical care to medical facilities that lacked access to specialized care. Specialists on Call subsequently acquired Telepeds in 2008. Dr. Parsapour has held faculty positions at UC Davis and UC Irvine and has been in private medical practice until 2013. He was the first Medical Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team at Miller Children’s Hospital, California’s largest full-service children’s hospital dedicated to care of children and women. He is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Critical Care and received his MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine.
