Greater Baden Medical Services

GBMS is a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit corporation that was founded in 1972 in order to provide primary care services to residents of rural Prince George’s County. Services and geographic coverage have expanded with time. The organization is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, the majority of who are users of clinic services.

GBMS has been providing services to the rural areas of Prince George’s County for nearly 40 years, and has added several additional service sites in response to community needs. It has been the leader in the community serving those most in need. You can receive services here if you are insured or uninsured as GBMS has become the only safety net provider in Southern Maryland. The staff is ethnically diverse, including bilingual providers, staff, and those who are proficient in American Sign Language. GBMS wants to be an active partner in your care; we monitor patient satisfaction through surveys and you are able to submit a CQI form if you have a concern. We want to work with you to improve your health regardless of your culture, language, or education. All staff, even our doctors, have attended cultural competency training at least twice per year for the past three years. The organization has received recognition from various federal agencies for providing quality health care and support services, especially those related to language interpretation and cultural awareness.
