Edward V. Loftus Jr., MD

Edward V. Loftus Jr., MD, Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, is a gastroenterologist with interests in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis). 

 

Dr. Loftus is also interested in the natural history of inflammatory bowel disease, the diagnosis and disease activity assessment of inflammatory bowel disease, the medical therapy of inflammatory bowel disease, and pharmacoeconomics of inflammatory bowel disease.

 

Dr. Loftus has served on the editorial board for Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, 2009-present, associate editor Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, 2006-present, editorial board for Gastroenterology, 2005-2010 and associate editor, American Journal of Gastroenterology, 2003-2009. Dr. Loftus has also served as the lead investigator and/or authored more than 190 studies that have been published in peer-reviewed journals.
