February is American Heart Month, which means there's no better time than now to commit to a heart healthy lifestyle.

With that being said, here are a couple facts that should have you taking a second look at your heart. According to The Heart Foundation, heart disease is the No. 1 cause of death in the US — killing nearly 790,000 people in 2011 alone. That’s 1 in every 4 deaths. Another shocking fact: cardiovascular diseases claim more lives than all forms of cancer combined.

This February, we wanted to give our hearts a little love. So we stopped by Baylor Scott and White Clinic in Cedar Park to talk to an expert about some simple ways to lower the risk of heart disease.
