A Warning About Eye Drop Bottles
Eye drop bottles could pose safety issues, according to the FDA

The FDA has issued a warning about eye drop bottles that have loose plastic safety seals or tamper-evident rings below the bottle cap.
The safety seals or tamper-evident rings can fall into the eye and may result in eye injuries, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The safety seals or tamper-evident rings are also referred to as the collar or band, which should actually remain connected to the neck of the eye drop container.
Consumers should not attempt to remove the seal or rings from eye drop containers because this may result in contamination of the tip of the eye drops, according to the FDA.
The agency will soon require a change in the design of the packaging of eye drops for the products that have been identified for this safety issue.
If you have any concerns about your eye drops, speak with your doctor or pharmacist. If the ring or seal has come loose on your eye drop bottle, or if you experience an eye injury, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
