Overview

Mucosolvan is a prescription medication used to treat many respiratory conditions that involve the over-production of mucus. Mucosolvan is in a group of medications called expectorants which help the body get rid of excess phlegm by making it thinner and more liquid.

This medication is available in tablet, once-daily capsule and liquid forms, and in a solution for oral inhalation. With the exception of the Mucosolvan One-A-Day Capsules, it is usually taken up to three times daily.

Common side effects of Mucosolvan include stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Mucosolvan is currently unavailable in the U.S.
