Prostate Cancer Health Center

Some men with prostate cancer have no symptoms of the disease. For men who do have signs, the common symptoms include:

  • Blood. Blood in the urine or semen
  • Pain. Frequent pain in the lower back, hips or upper thighs

Urinary problems.

  • Not being able to pass urine
  • Having a hard time starting or stopping the urine flow
  • Needing to urinate often, especially at night
  • Weak flow of urine
  • Urine flow that starts and stops
  • Pain or burning during urination
  • Sexual problems. Difficulty having an erection

Most often, though, these symptoms are not due to cancer.

BPH, an infection, or another health problem may cause these symptoms.

If you do have any of these symptoms that don’t go away, talk to your doctor so the problems can be diagnosed and treated.
