Influenza Health Center

The influenza virus can travel through the air in droplets when someone with the virus coughs, sneezes or speaks. A person can inhale these droplets which infects them with the influenza virus.

The influenza virus is constantly changing and every year or so, a new strain appears. If a person has had influenza in the past, your body is immune to that specific strain but can still be susceptible to a different strain.
