Getting Help
It is important to make routine appointments with your health care provider every six months for a dental check-up and examination in order to maintain good dental health.
Tooth Decay:
- Call your dentist or dental hygienist if you have a toothache or show any other symptoms of tooth decay.
Gum Disease:
- Make an appointment with your dentist or periodontist to receive a diagnosis and treatment options if you are showing any signs of gum disease.
Dry Mouth:
- If you think you have dry mouth, see your dentist or health care provider. He or she should be able to determine what is causing your dry mouth.
Oral Cancer:
- Call for an appointment with your health care provider if you are experiencing soreness in your mouth or lip or discover a lump in the neck that does not go away within 1 month. Early diagnosis and treatment of oral cancer greatly increases the chances of survival.
