Prevent Waxing Pain: Do's & Dont's
January 5, 2012
An important DON'T is not using acne medications close to your appointment. Take your last dose at least 3 MONTHS before you get waxed. See, they're both keratolytics, which increase the rate at which your skin the epidermal layer -- self-exfoliates or sloughs off -- leaving you EXTREMELY susceptible to tearing. And ladies, hold off on waxing if you're getting your period. Three days prior to your period and the first three days of your period are when your skin's at its MOST sensitive. When getting professionally waxed, you should always work WITH the aesthetician. If you're being asked to pull your skin taut DO IT. Trust me. You'll be in less pain. Go ahead and ask how you can help.
