Purpose of Tums

Antacid, Calcium supplement

Relieves:

  • heartburn
  • sour stomach
  • acid indigestion
  • upset stomach associated with these symptoms

Tums Active Ingredients

Calcium carbonate USP 500 mg (in each chewable tablet)

Tums Inactive Ingredients

Assorted Fruit: sucrose, calcium carbonate, corn starch, talc, mineral oil, natural and artificial flavors,
 adipic acid, sodium polyphosphate, red 40 lake, yellow 6 lake, yellow 5 (tartrazine) 
lake, blue 1 lake.

Peppermint: sucrose, calcium carbonate, corn starch, talc, mineral oil, natural flavors,
 sodium polyphosphate.

Tums Warnings

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are taking a prescription drug. Antacids may interact with certain prescription drugs.

When using this product:

  • do not take more than 10 tablets in 24 hours
  • do not use the maximum dosage for more than 2 weeks

Keep out of reach of children.

Tums Directions

Chew 2 – 4 tablets as symptoms occur, or as directed by a doctor

As A Calcium Supplement:

Uses: As a daily source of extra calcium


Directions: Chew 2 tablets twice daily with a meal

Tums Pediatric Use

Follow the dosing instructions on the package labeling, unless your doctor has given you different instructions. If you are unsure of the dose to give a child, check with your doctor.
