Januvia

Januvia is a prescription medication used to lower blood sugar levels in adult patients with type 2 diabetes.

Januvia belongs to a group of drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors, which help lower blood sugar levels in two ways. It helps the body increase insulin to stabilize blood sugar and decrease sugars that are made in the liver.

This medication comes in tablet form and is taken once a day, with or without food.

Common side effects include upper respiratory infection, stuffy nose, sore throat, nausea, and diarrhea.
