Compounding Pharmacies Launch Digital Patient Education With Compounding+

RxWiki’s Digital Pharmacist solutions expand for compounding pharmacies

(July 29, 2014) – AUSTIN, TX - RxWiki, Inc. today announced the launch of Compounding+, an extension of its Life Sciences Library for compounding pharmacies to digitally educate patients and increase medication adherence. Published by RxWiki’s Digital Pharmacists™, Compounding+ delivers a superior patient education experience across websites, Facebook and mobile applications.

By integrating text and video content, in both English and Spanish languages, Compounding+ is enhancing both health literacy and patient engagement.

“In response to the growing patient demand, compounding has experienced a resurgence in recent years,” said Anyssa Garza, PharmD, at RxWiki. “With this resurgence comes the opportunity for compounding pharmacist to better engage patients with digital education. Evidence has shown customized medications and preparations can be beneficial. Compounding+ delivers a multilingual, text and video content experience that is unrivaled in the marketplace.”

Market research estimates that over 90% of community pharmacies offer compounding services.  Although compounding is becoming more widely available, patients remain uneducated about the benefits and many simply aren’t aware that their local pharmacy offers the service. The need for trusted, accurate and accessible compounding information is growing more apparent as this education gap widens.

“We’re thrilled to be one of the first compounding pharmacies in the country to take advantage of RxWiki’s Compounding+ program,” said Chris Perling, PharmD, Director of Pharmacy at Genorite Pharmacy in Austin, TX.

“No matter where a patient interacts with us, they can find the peer-reviewed compounding information they need, in whatever media format they want, and in english or spanish. This is a huge benefit to our pharmacy,” said Perling. (View Genorite Pharmacy’s website and compounding content at www.genoriterx.com)

Compounding+ is available for the National Community Pharmacist Association (NCPA) members and other community pharmacies. Subscription information is available by contacting info@DigitalPharmacist.com or visiting www.DigitalPharmacist.com.
