Shanda Blackmon, MD, MPH, FACS

Dr. Blackmon began her academic career as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2005. She assumed her current positions at Houston Methodist Hospital in 2006 and Houston Methodist Hospital Research Institute in 2007. Dr. Blackmon has current clinical trials for a lung cancer vaccine, metastatic renal cell cancer to the lung after molecular targeted therapy, minimal resection of lung cancer, novel treatments for lung cancer after chemotherapy has failed, and prospective database research for patients with cardiac tumors, lung cancer, and esophageal cancer.
