James Barr, M.D.


Dr. Barr is a board-certified Family Physician with an active clinical practice at Pleasant Run Family Physicians, a Level III NCQA recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home in Neshanic Station, NJ. He obtained his medical degree from Hahnemann University and is an assistant clinical professor at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

His leadership roles include Chief Medical Officer for the Optimus Healthcare Partners High-Performing Network, Medical-Executive Director for the Central Jersey Physician Network IPA, and member of the Horizon BCBS of New Jersey HMO Board of Directors.

He speaks nationally on the PCMH & ACO models including NCQA recognition of Medical Homes, IT infrastructure requirements, clinical integration, performance management, and compensation reform.
