East Side Prescription Center

In 1977, the East Side Prescription Center was established and is located at 632 Hope Street in Providence, Rhode Island. Our pharmacy is the only independent pharmacy in the historic East Side of Providence. The building is located one mile north of Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design. Richard Backer, R.PH., is a registered pharmacist who is the owner. We believe that information is the best medicine. The professionalism of our staff goes far beyond just preparing prescriptions. We are experienced health consultants that are happy to explain medications for you and provide written information. If available, a generic medication is substituted appropriately to save you money. We gladly inform you how to use the medications safely and effectively. We can answer any questions that you might have in regards to the compatibility with your current medications and discuss any possible side effects with you. All our services are done with total confidentiality.

We have many easy, flexible payment options and accept a variety of insurance plans. We accept cash, personal checks, major credit card providers, and special prescription cards. We are a fully certified SIGIS and IIAS compliant pharmacy that is capable of applying your purchases to any HSA or HRA accounts.
