Overactive Bladder Health Center

While seeing a doctor is an important part of getting proper treatment for overactive bladder, there are steps you can take on your own while on treatment. By tracking your symptoms and progress, you and your doctor can figure out a treatment plan that will work best for you.

Try keeping track of the times when you leak. You may notice that certain times of the day bring on the accidents. Use that information to make planned trips to the restroom. Diet changes and eliminating certain liquids like soda, caffeinated drinks and tea may help prevent accidents.

If you are a woman with overactive bladder, ask your doctor about Kegel exercises, how to do them and how often.
