Saw palmetto is a small palm tree.

Saw palmetto is used most often for urinary symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate gland (also called benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH).

Saw palmetto may also be used for chronic pelvic pain, bladder disorders, decreased sex drive, hair loss, hormone imbalances, and prostate cancer.

A common side effect of saw palmetto is stomach discomfort.
