LCZ696 is is an investigational drug used to treat heart failure.

LCZ696 is a single product containing 2 medications: sacubitril and valsartan.

LCZ696 belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin receptor neprilysin inhibitor. It is thought to reduce the strain on the failing heart

Sacubitril works by blocking neprilysin, an enzyme that contributes to the breakdown of certain heart compounds that affect heart function.

Valsartan works by blocking the action of certain natural substances that tighten the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently.

LCZ696 is being studied by Novartis.
